Port Handling

Convenient Location

Quick access to the waterways network; as the most northwesterly GVZ in Germany, the GVZ Emsland with its location in Dörpen, is particularly conveniently situated for the ports of Rotterdamm, Hamburg, Emden and Bremen as well as the new Jade-Weser port in Wilhelmshaven.

Latest Technology

35m high, 102m bridge length, 51t capacity; the giant gantry crane PK III is used for barge handling directly at the GVZ docks in Dörpen. Two of the world’s larges reach stackers enable more efficient and timesaving processes, for example containers can be hooked and hoisted from a much lower stand level.

Certification and Hazardous Material Handling

The GVZ Emsland is certified in accordance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 and is approved for container dangerous good handling classes 2,3,4,5,6.1,8,9.

In addition to container handling, heavy goods and conventional cargo handling also takes place at the GVZ docks. With a quay length of 350 metres, a total of 4 berths are available.
